Vernal Ponds

For this week’s Minglewood Mondays, Ms. Margie takes us down to one of their favorite spots at the Preserve: a Vernal Pond.

Farmer Bill tells us about the importance of these fascinating and rich habitats, not only for the wellbeing of the animals that depend on them, but for the greater health of the forest.

If you have some wetlands near you, get outside and take a look around and see what creatures you find. There’s all sorts of sights and sounds to find before these dry up in the summer!
