Wildflower Walk

Farmer Bill joins Ms. Margie in helping you get to know some of the local wildflowers here in North Carolina.

This week, in place of our originally scheduled Spring Nature walk with Dr. Ken Bridle, member of the Piedmont Land Conservancy and board member for Minglewood, we take you out into the forest to see some of the wildflowers popping up in our neck of the woods!

The three books that Farmer Bill and Ms Margie recommend are:

  • Wildflowers of Appalachia, waterproof pamphlet, Quick Reference Publishing

  • The Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Wildflowers, Eastern Region, Knopf Publishing=

  • Wild Flowers of North Carolina, by William S. Justice and C. Ritchie Bell, University of North Carolina Press

Remember to NEVER pick a wildflower. Take a picture, draw a sketch, make a memory, and leave the rest. Show us what you find out there by tagging #minglewoodmondays!
