The Land
Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve is situated in the foothills of the North West Piedmont in North Carolina and is made up of 65 acres of land. It serves as both a pesticide-free farm and a nature preserve offering a blend of regenerative agricultural practices and environmental conservation.
At Minglewood Farm, sustainability takes center stage as 7+ acres of land are dedicated to growing nutritious food and pollinator friendly flowers. The farm is committed to organic practices and three season farming.
Minglewood Preserve covers 65 acres and has trails throughout that wind through a native forest with diverse ecosystems, showcasing rich native flora and fauna. Embracing its dual role as a farm and outdoor education center, Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve invites visitors to explore, learn and connect to nature.
Minglewood Farm and Nature Preserve is located on land that was once used by the Saura Native Americans. In 1863 Samuel Green Adams moved from Patrick County and settled on the land that is now Minglewood Preserve. He and his family built a two room, dog trot style log cabin, that you can still see at Minglewood. The Adams raised 10 children in this small 2 room cabin. Minglewood very much enjoys teaching about a sense of place.
